This Privacy Policy explains what data YENTTO collects across the YENTTO Customer app, the YENTTO Seller app, the Admin panel, and yentto.com — and why.
1.Who we are
YENTTO is operated by YENTTO TECHNOLOGIES PRIVATE LIMITED (“YENTTO”, “we”, “us”), CIN U62011TN2026PTC195306, GSTIN 33AACCY2507P1Z4, with its registered office at No. 21/22, Alandur Road, Arulayammanpet 2nd Street, Guindy Industrial Estate, Chennai – 600032, Tamil Nadu, India. YENTTO is a multi-category marketplace that connects sellers with customers; sellers fulfil their own orders within the delivery zones they set.
2.Scope of this policy
The same policy applies to every YENTTO surface: the Customer app, the Seller app, and our website. Where a section applies only to one side of the marketplace, we say so. This policy is reachable from both apps’ login screens, in each app under Account › Account & Privacy › Privacy Policy, and in our store listings.
3.Information we collect

4.How we use your information
- To create and secure your account and verify you by one-time password (OTP).
- To show only shops that can actually deliver to your location, and to process and track orders.
- To pass orders and the delivery information you provide to the relevant seller so they can fulfil them.
- To process payments and refunds through our payment gateway partner.
- To operate reviews and ratings, review and moderate seller listings and review content, and enforce our Trust & Safety standards.
- To provide support, send service notifications and order updates (delivered via Firebase Cloud Messaging), prevent fraud and abuse, and meet legal obligations.
We process your data on the lawful bases of performing our contract with you, your consent (which you can withdraw), our legitimate interest in running a safe marketplace, and compliance with law.
5.Phone number & OTP
YENTTO uses phone-number OTP as its sign-in method. We use your mobile number to send a one-time code and to identify your account. You enter the code yourself — we do not request or use READ_SMS or RECEIVE_SMS permissions, and we do not read your other messages. If we add automatic OTP entry in future, it will use Google’s privacy-safe SMS Retriever / User Consent API, which exposes only the one-time code to the app and never your other messages.
6.Location data
Location is central to how YENTTO works: it matches your address against each shop’s delivery zone so you only see shops that can reach you. We request location only when it is needed for this purpose and explain why in-context. You can enter an address manually instead of sharing device location, and you can change or revoke the permission in your device settings at any time.
7.Payments
Payments are processed by our third-party payment gateway partner, an RBI-authorised payment aggregator. Card data and payment-instrument security are handled by the payment gateway under its own PCI-DSS compliance; YENTTO does not store your full card details. We receive transaction references and status to confirm orders and process refunds. When you pay by UPI, the UPI ID you use is shared with the payment gateway to process that payment. Our Play Data Safety declaration and Apple privacy labels are kept consistent with this. See the payment gateway’s own privacy notice for how it handles payment data.
8.Sharing with sellers & others
We share information only as needed to run the marketplace:
- With sellers — the order details and delivery information needed to fulfil your order. Sellers must use this only to fulfil and support your order.
- With our payment gateway partner — to process payments and refunds.
- With our technology providers — Google / Firebase (app analytics, crash reporting, and push notifications), Google Maps (location and mapping), and our hosting provider. Each processes data only to provide its service to us and is bound to protect it.
- For legal reasons — where required by law, or to prevent fraud and protect users.
We do not sell your personal data.
9.Cookies & website analytics
yentto.com and our apps may use cookies and similar technologies for essential functioning, to remember preferences (such as language), and to understand usage through privacy-respecting analytics and crash reporting. On this website we use Google Analytics (provided by Google / Firebase, a technology partner named in section 8) to measure page visits and how you reach our apps; analytics cookies are set only with your consent, and until then measurement runs in a cookieless mode. In our apps, analytics and crash reporting are provided by the same partners. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may affect how the site works. We do not use cookies to sell your data.
10.Reviews & seller content
The shop names, listings, descriptions and images that sellers publish, and the reviews (ratings, text, photos) that customers post, are visible to other users — reviews you post also appear to the shop in the Seller app. Please don’t include sensitive personal information in review text or photos. Review text and photos are moderated before display, and content that breaches our Content & Acceptable-Use Policy may be removed. There is no user-to-user messaging feature.
11.Device permissions
Each permission is requested in context with a clear reason — for example, location for zone-matching, notifications for order updates, and camera/photos only if you upload an image. You can manage permissions in your device settings.
12.Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal, tax and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our terms. Order and transaction records may be retained for the period required by applicable law.
13.Account & data deletion
You can delete your account and associated personal data from inside either app under Account › Account & Privacy › Delete Account, or by email request (see yentto.com/delete-account). Some records may be retained where the law requires it; see the deletion page for details.
14.Your rights
Subject to applicable law (including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), you may access, correct, update, or delete your personal data, withdraw consent, nominate another person to exercise your rights, and raise a grievance. To exercise these, contact us at privacy@yentto.com.
15.Children
YENTTO is intended for users aged 18 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect the personal data of anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we will delete it.
16.Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your information and to respond promptly to any incident.
17.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with a revised “Last updated” date and, for material changes, notify you in-app.
18.Grievance redressal & contact
If you have a complaint, contact us at grievance@yentto.com or through the in-app help option, and you will receive a ticket reference. In line with Indian law, our Grievance Officer acknowledges every complaint within 48 hours and works to resolve it within one month of receipt. Content- and safety-related reports are actioned promptly (serious or objectionable content within 24 hours).
